I was listening to one of my favorite podcasts the other day and heard something quite interesting from Jordan Koene of Search Metrics. I recommend that you check out the podcast in its entirety to get the full context, but here is one quote that was intriguing: "speed is such a powerful competitive advantage that maybe suboptimal content will become higher ranked because it’s faster." (In case you hadn't heard, Google announced this past July that page speed was now a ranking factor for mobile searches.)
We've always heard (at least for over a decade) that content is king, but should we start questioning that now? Well, I don't think there is a need to debate it, but instead - pay attention to it!
